ABOUT US
Home-Raised Champions
At Umphrey Dobermans, our puppies are not raised in a traditional “kennel” setting—they are family from day one. Even though we carry the name “kennel,” our Doberman puppies live in our home, under our feet, where they learn the rhythms of daily life alongside us. This intimate, home-based upbringing ensures that every puppy is well-adjusted, confident, and ready for their forever home with the foundation they need to thrive.
A Home Environment for Well-Rounded Puppies
From the moment they are born, our puppies are surrounded by love, activity, and human interaction. They are not kept in isolated kennels but instead grow up in the heart of our household, absorbing the sights, sounds, and routines of family life. This means:
✔ Early House Manners – They learn boundaries, basic expectations, and how to coexist comfortably in a home.
✔ Understanding Human Behavior – By living with us, they observe and adapt to how people move, speak, and interact.
✔ Noise & Stimulus Exposure – Vacuum cleaners, doorbells, TVs, children playing—our puppies are accustomed to everyday (and sometimes loud) household noises, so they grow up bold and unshaken by new experiences.
Personality & Individuality
Every Umphrey Doberman puppy is unique, with their own quirks, preferences, and developing temperament. Because they live inside with us, we get to know each one deeply—their confidence levels, playfulness, curiosity, and even their little stubborn streaks! This allows us to guide their development and help match them with the perfect family based on their personality.
Socialization: Preparing for the Real World
A well-socialized puppy is a happy, adaptable dog, so we go beyond basic exposure. Our puppies experience:
✔ Meeting Different People – Men, women, children, strangers—so they are comfortable with all kinds of humans.
✔ Introduction to Other Animals – Safe, positive interactions with other dogs, cats, and livestock (if applicable).
✔ New Environments – Car rides, outdoor adventures, different floor textures, and novel objects to build confidence.
By the time they go home, our puppies are not just physically healthy, but mentally prepared for a smooth transition into their new lives.
Why This Matters
Many Dobermans (and dogs in general) develop fears or reactivity because they were raised in isolated kennel settings without enough early socialization. We prevent that. Our puppies leave us with:
✨ A strong, stable temperament
✨ Curiosity instead of fear
✨ Basic household understanding
✨ A love for people and new experiences
When you bring home an Umphrey Doberman, you’re not just getting a puppy—you’re getting a well-prepared companion who has been given the best possible start in life.
